PES 2022 might be a Free To Play Title

PES 2022 might be a Free To Play Title

The upcoming installment of the soccer series PES might divert from the rest of the series and instead be a free-to-play title. The most recent game in the series came in the form of a brand new update to eFootball PES 2020, instead of having a completely new title for fans of the franchise to buy separately, with the title receiving some positive reception from critics. PES has largely had new games that need to be bought, and with the series’ two decade-long history, this would be the very first time that a mainline entry would be released for free.

PES has had fierce competition, particularly with EA’s FIFA series, and the 2022 version of the game being free would likely give them an advantage over their competition. A Konami playtest has received attention, particularly for being a soccer title, and this fuels speculations that the game is getting ready for its upcoming release later this year. Konami, also famous for their work with the Silent Hill and Metal Gear franchises, has had quite a while to work on their latest entry into their popular soccer series. There still isn’t any announcement from Konami regarding the release date of the game, but be sure to keep an eye out regarding news on the game from the studio.
