NetherRealm’s next game could be Mortal Kombat 12 according to Job Listings

Thanks to a new find from TweakTown, job listings for popular fighting game studio NetherRealm may hint towards Mortal Kombat 12. In a Tweet, the studio declared that they are done with providing Downloadable Content for their 2019 hit Mortal Kombat 11, no longer seeking to add any more new characters to the game. NetherRealm has notably gone back and forth between its Injustice and Mortal Kombat games in the last decade, alternating between them and consistently receiving positive reviews from critics and gamers, and gamers have been speculating that NetherRealm will make a return to the Injustice games after Mortal Kombat 11.

However, a new job listing might prove otherwise, as the team behind the two series is currently looking for different kinds of people to help on their next project, including one or more projects, in addition to someone working with the team “behind the Mortal Kombat franchise.” Mortal Kombat 11 was a large success for the team, both in terms of its commercial sales and its critical reception, and with the story the game told, there are many places the series can go to next. That being said, there is a possibility that they could also be working on both Injustice 3 and Mortal Kombat 12, and fans would have to stay tuned regarding what the studio has in store next.
