The best heroes in Last Z: Survival Shooter right now are the Season 4 carries, Queenie (Wings of Dawn), Yu Chan (Blood Rose) and Amber (Guard of Order), backed by their faction’s Season 2 and Season 3 pair. Below is our Last Z hero tier list for 36 heroes across all three factions. Every hero gets a reason, and we list the early heroes worth levelling only for their account skills.
Hero names, rarities, roles and the skill text quoted here come from Omnilojo’s official hero introductions on @LastZ_EN and its store pages wherever those exist. The rest of the roster data comes from community guides, credited below. We found no hero database from Omnilojo outside the game. The tiers are GamingRoute’s opinion, checked against three dated community tier lists (checked November 2, 2026 UTC).

Quick answer: best Last Z heroes
- Best heroes now (Season 4): Queenie, Yu Chan and Amber, one per faction. Build the one that matches your faction.
- Pairs to keep together: Alma + Liliana (Wings of Dawn), Bella + Licia (Blood Rose), Harleyena + Dodemeki (Guard of Order). The Season 3 hero’s talent only works with its named Season 2 partner.
- Counters: Wings of Dawn beats Blood Rose, Blood Rose beats Guard of Order, Guard of Order beats Wings of Dawn.
- Level these for account skills, not combat: Sophia (construction), Amelia (research), Mia (vehicle blueprints), Katrina (fuel), Giselle (Wood).
- “Season 5 heroes”: older servers had an extra season, so some guides call the Vampire season (Moonlit Elegy) Season 5. It’s the same Queenie, Yu Chan and Amber season.
How we ranked the Last Z heroes
Last Z has three hero rarities, which the official hero cards label S (orange), A (purple) and B (blue). Those letters are rarity, not our tier. Our tiers:
- S: build first if it fits your faction. A Season 4 carry or part of a seasonal pair.
- A: a strong core pick, or an orange hero with a combat role and a useful account skill.
- B: situational or early-game. Fine until an orange hero of the same role replaces it.
- C: level only for the passive (gathering or training). Keep it out of your formation.
We weigh PvP, rallies and SvS first. PvE modes like Zombie Siege ignore faction counters, so your strongest damage heroes win there. The last column shows where two other lists placed each hero.
Last Z hero tier list by faction

Blood Rose heroes (Assaulters)
| Hero (rarity) | Our tier | Why | AllClash / HG |

| Sophia (orange) | A | Decent DPS, and her Princess’s Gift skill adds free construction time (+90 minutes) and +40% construction speed, per the Last Z Fandom wiki | A / A |
| Oliveira (orange, S1) | A | Strong damage plus a training-speed global; check how she’s obtained on your server | A+ / A |
| Katrina (orange) | B | Your first Defender and early frontline; long-term value is her fuel skill (100 fuel a day when fully built) | B+ / B |
| Ava (purple) | B | One of the few early supports; strong in the first weeks | B+ / B |
| Miranda (purple) | B | Defensive frontline with no global skill; free-to-play players use her for a long time | B / B |
| Vivian (purple) | B | Early damage for clearing zombies; her fuel-saving talent works without deploying her once she reaches 5 stars | B / not listed |
| Audrey (blue) | C | Troop-training passive only | B / not listed |
| Giselle (blue) | C | Officially DPS, but she’s a Wood-gathering hero; her official card says she boosts resource production even when not deployed | C / C |
“AllClash / HG” is each hero’s placement on AllClash’s list (updated October 12, 2026) and Heaven Guardian’s (September 18, 2026). AllClash uses S+ to C. “Not listed” means that list leaves the hero out.
Best Last Z hero team and formation
Start with five heroes of one faction and the matching troop type. A full faction team turns on the formation’s faction bonus, and some talents need all five slots from one faction. According to Last Z Guides’ formation guide (updated September 7, 2026), the usual opening layout is two Defenders in front and three damage heroes behind.
| Faction | Troops | Season 4 carry | S2 + S3 pair | Strong against | Weak against |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wings of Dawn | Shooters | Queenie | Alma + Liliana | Blood Rose | Guard of Order |
| Blood Rose | Assaulters | Yu Chan | Bella + Licia | Guard of Order | Wings of Dawn |
| Guard of Order | Riders | Amber | Harleyena + Dodemeki | Wings of Dawn | Blood Rose |
A 3+2 team (three heroes from one faction, two from another) is only worth testing when it keeps a seasonal pair together or adds a well-built hero worth more than the faction bonus you lose. Compare battle reports in the same mode before you commit.
Which faction should a new player pick? Last Z Guides suggests Wings of Dawn, because Blood Rose heroes unlock first and most new players build them, and Wings of Dawn counters Blood Rose. If you’ve already built Blood Rose or Guard of Order, keep it. Switching factions later costs more than the counter is worth.
Last Z heroes by season: Season 1 to Season 4 (and “Season 5”)
Seasons run per server, so your season depends on your server’s age. Omnilojo’s own Halloween Havoc announcement gave separate start dates for “Servers in Season 3 and later”, Season 2 and Season 1. Season 1 added two heroes per faction, and each later season adds one:
| Season | Theme | Blood Rose | Wings of Dawn | Guard of Order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S1 (troop damage) | – | Selena | Nyx | Sakura |
| S1 (training, capacity) | – | Oliveira | Scarlett | Evelyn |
| S2 | Winter / Everfrost | Bella | Alma | Harleyena |
| S3 | Dinosaur Origin | Licia | Liliana | Dodemeki |
| S4 | Vampire / Moonlit Elegy | Yu Chan | Queenie | Amber |
The season list follows Last Z Guides’ Moonlit Elegy page (updated October 1, 2026), which also explains the “Season 5 heroes” searches: older servers played an extra season before Winter, so their guides call Moonlit Elegy Season 5 and cover awakening Oliveira, Scarlett and Evelyn past five orange stars. The real Season 5 theme wasn’t confirmed as of that update.

Last Z heroes worth upgrading for account skills
A hero’s third skill unlocks at level 30, and several early heroes have one that works outside combat. Level them that far; they don’t need your best gear.
| Hero | Account benefit | Level it when |
|---|---|---|
| Sophia | Construction speed and free construction time | Building queues are your bottleneck |
| Amelia | Research speed and free research time | Research is slow |
| Mia | Free Modification Blueprints daily + Mod Vehicle EXP | Vehicle upgrades stall |
| Katrina | Fuel supply, up to 100 fuel a day | You run out of fuel for daily activities |
| Laura | Radar rewards and progression | You clear radar tasks every day |
| Chinatsu | Alliance Duel point bonuses | Your alliance pushes Duel rankings |
| Giselle, Natalie, Athena | Gathering speed and yield | You gather a lot (Giselle = Wood) |
| Angelina, William, Audrey, Maria | Troop training | You train troops for events |
How many hero fragments does Last Z need?
Stars cost fragments, and the last star costs the most. These promotion costs come from Last Z Guides’ heroes page (updated September 7, 2026):
| Promotion | Fragments | Total from 0 stars |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 1 star | 25 | 25 |
| 1 to 2 stars | 50 | 75 |
| 2 to 3 stars | 100 | 175 |
| 3 to 4 stars | 300 | 475 |
| 4 to 5 stars | 500 | 975 |
The fourth skill (the talent) needs hero level 50 and 4 stars, and the seasonal pair talents gain their extra effect (across troop types, plus troop capacity) at 5 stars. That’s why one fully built faction team beats a bench of half-starred orange heroes. Free shards turn up in events, like the William and Scarlett shards from the October 24 Nagi event, and redeem codes add speedups: see our Last Z: Survival Shooter codes page, which we update every week.
How our list compares with other Last Z tier lists
- AllClash (updated October 12, 2026): ranks heroes within each faction from S+ to C. We match its top picks. It’s higher on Laura, Nyx, Scarlett and Sakura (S) than we are.
- Heaven Guardian (September 18, 2026): also puts Queenie, Yu Chan and Amber on top, but rates Mia and Evelyn S. We have them at A because much of their value is utility. The site sells game accounts, so we don’t link it.
- Last Z Guides (September 7, 2026): gives faction routes, not a ranking; our season table and counters follow it.
- BlueStacks (June 26, 2025): predates the seasonal heroes, so it only fits a brand-new server.
Playing other survival 4X games too? Our Whiteout Survival tier list ranks every hero by generation, and our games like Whiteout Survival list compares Last Z with Dark War Survival, from the same publisher (Dark War Survival codes) and with Last War.
FAQ
Who is the best hero in Last Z: Survival Shooter?
On Season 4 servers it’s your faction’s carry: Queenie, Yu Chan or Amber. On a young server, build the starting orange heroes Katrina, Laura and Sophia first.
What are the Last Z Season 5 heroes?
Most “Season 5” guides come from older servers that count the Vampire season (Moonlit Elegy) as Season 5. Its heroes are Queenie, Yu Chan and Amber, plus awakening for Oliveira, Scarlett and Evelyn. No separate Season 5 trio had been confirmed as of Last Z Guides’ October 1 update.
Is Mia good in Last Z?
Yes, as an orange Guard of Order Defender with a strong account skill. Her official skill card says Expert Modifier grants free Modification Blueprints every day and adds Mod Vehicle EXP. We rank her A because the Season 2 to 4 Guard of Order heroes do more in battle.
