To breed Shugabush in My Singing Monsters, put a Bowgart and a Clamble in the Breeding Structure on Plant Island. It’s the only combination there is, and it doesn’t always work. When it does, the egg takes 1 day 11 hours, or 1 day 2 hours 15 minutes with an Enhanced Breeding Structure. Below are the timers, the fastest way to get both parents, what raises your odds, and what to do once Shugabush hatches.

Quick answer
- Combo: Bowgart + Clamble, on Plant Island only. Rare Bowgart or Rare Clamble work as parents too.
- Breeding time: 1d 11h (35 hours). Enhanced: 1d 2h 15m. With an island skin boost: 1d 7h 30m. Enhanced plus boosted: 22h 45m.
- Unlocks at: Level 9. It needs 2 beds and a 2×2 space.
- Not guaranteed: there’s no 100% combo and Big Blue Bubble doesn’t publish the odds. Level up both parents and light Wishing Torches before each attempt.
- Buying it instead: 200 Diamonds in the Plant Island Market (100 during a 50% off sale), or 700 Diamonds on Shugabush Island.
- Next step: feed it to level 15 (1,310,640 treats in total), then teleport it to Shugabush Island to breed the rest of the Shugafam.

How to breed Shugabush: the combo
Shugabush is a Legendary monster from the Shugafam, and Plant Island is the only place you can breed it. The combo has been the same since the monster launched in version 1.1.7 on July 29, 2013. Kristian Bush of the duo Sugarland voices Shugabush, and he gave the hint himself in his launch-day post: the Big Blue Bubble team worked out “how to breed him (hint: Bowgart + Clamble)”. The My Singing Monsters Wiki still lists that as the only combination.
- Reach level 9. Shugabush, Bowgart and Clamble all unlock at that level.
- Have one adult Bowgart and one adult Clamble on Plant Island. The steps for breeding both are below.
- Light any Wishing Torches you have on Plant Island before you tap Breed. Torches only count for the attempt you start while they’re lit.
- Breed Bowgart with Clamble. If the timer reads 1d 11h (or 1d 2h 15m with an Enhanced structure), you’ve got Shugabush. Any other timer means a different monster, and you can either let it finish or speed it up.
- Clear 2 beds of space before the egg hatches, since Shugabush needs 2 beds and a 2×2 spot.
You can use a Rare Bowgart or a Rare Clamble in place of the common one. When a try fails, the wiki says you can get a Rare Bowgart, Rare Clamble, Rare Potbelly or Rare Mammott while those Rares are available. At 03:05 UTC on November 2, 2026, the wiki’s availability tracker listed all four as breedable (along with the other Plant Island Rares and Epics), so a failed attempt right now can still get you something useful.
How long does it take to breed Shugabush?
These are the wiki’s timers for Shugabush and its two parents. The Enhanced Breeding Structure and Enhanced Nursery each cost 25 Diamonds and cut time by 25%. Most island skins add a 10% breeding boost and a 10% incubation boost.
| Monster | Default | Enhanced | Skin boost | Enhanced + boosted |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shugabush | 1d 11h | 1d 2h 15m | 1d 7h 30m | 22h 45m |
| Bowgart | 12h | 9h | 10h 48m | 7h 48m |
| Clamble | 12h | 9h | 10h 48m | 7h 48m |
| Rare Bowgart / Rare Clamble | 15h 30m | 11h 37m 30s | 13h 57m | 10h 4m 30s |
| Furcorn (needed for both parents) | 8h | 6h | 7h 12m | 5h 12m |
Incubation in the Nursery takes as long as breeding. So a default-speed Shugabush ties up the Breeding Structure for 35 hours, and then the Nursery for another 35. Upgrading both structures (50 Diamonds in total) cuts that time by a quarter, and it costs much less than buying the monster outright.
How to breed Bowgart and Clamble first
Both parents are three-element Natural monsters. Bowgart is Plant, Water and Cold, and Clamble is Plant, Earth and Cold. Each has three working combos. The wiki’s picks for the fastest ones both use Furcorn, because a failed try gives you a single-element monster that hatches almost at once, so you can try again straight away.
| Target | Best combo | Other combos | Why the best one |
|---|---|---|---|
| Furcorn (Plant + Cold) | Potbelly + Mammott | None needed | A double from two singles is a sure thing (100%) |
| Bowgart | Furcorn + Toe Jammer | Maw + Potbelly, Oaktopus + Mammott | If it fails and gives a Toe Jammer, that hatches in about a minute |
| Clamble | Furcorn + Noggin | Drumpler + Potbelly, Shrubb + Mammott | If it fails and gives a Noggin, that takes 5 seconds |
The order that works best: breed Furcorn first (Potbelly + Mammott, 8 hours). Breeding doesn’t use up the parents, so that one Furcorn can then make both Bowgart (with Toe Jammer) and Clamble (with Noggin). If you get a spare Bowgart or Clamble, keep it. Every extra pair is another Shugabush attempt you can run at the same time with a Bonus Breeding Structure, which costs 40 Diamonds and is only offered to players who have made an in-app purchase.
How to improve your odds of getting Shugabush
Big Blue Bubble has never published Shugabush’s success rate. The wiki’s Breeding page explains how the hidden odds work. Here’s what that means for this combo:
- Level up Bowgart and Clamble. Only levels above 4 count. Higher levels move more of the chance toward rarer results, and both parents add to it.
- Light Wishing Torches. Torches move chance away from common results and toward the rarest result of the pair, which is Shugabush here. They unlock at level 12 and cost 10,000 coins each, and you can place up to 10 per island. Lighting one costs 2 Diamonds for 24 hours, or 100 Diamonds to keep it lit for good. Friends can light them for free. The wiki notes that the exact boost per torch is unknown.
- Save torches for events. Island skins and limited-time events make torches stronger. Wait until you’re about to breed before you tap the torches your friends have lit.
- What doesn’t help: Enhanced structures, speed-ups and past failures don’t change the odds. Every attempt is rolled on its own, so there’s no “pity” counter.

How to breed Shugabush on Shugabush Island
You can’t, at least not with a fixed combo. Shugabush Island is free once you own Air Island. Every breeding combo on that island needs a Shugabush plus one Natural monster, so you have to bring the first one in yourself:
- Teleport one: feed a Plant Island Shugabush to level 15, then teleport it. It arrives as an egg at level 1. Teleporting can’t be undone.
- Buy one: 700 Diamonds in the Shugabush Island Market (350 during a 50% off sale).
- Extra copies: once a Shugabush is on the island, any Shugafam combo can fail and give you another Shugabush.
Here are the Shugafam combos the wiki lists. Each one is a Shugabush plus a Natural monster that’s already on Shugabush Island:
| Shugabush + | Can result in |
|---|---|
| Mammott | Shugarock |
| Potbelly | Shugabass |
| Oaktopus | Shugajo (also Viveine when available) |
| Furcorn | Shugabeats |
| Quibble | Shugabuzz |
| PomPom | Shugitar |
| Deedge | Shugavox |
The wiki rates Shugabush + Mammott as the best combo for getting more Shugabush, because its failures have the shortest average wait.
What to do with Shugabush after you breed it
- Rewards: the goal for placing your first Shugabush pays 100,000 coins, and placing it gives 50,000 XP.
- Coins: it earns very little for a Legendary, so keep it for the song, the collection and the Shugafam rather than for coins.
- Feeding to level 15: 1,310,640 treats in total, with each feed doubling until level 14. Level 15 is when you can teleport it to Shugabush Island or place it on Gold Island. Per the wiki, it’s the only Legendary allowed on Gold Island, and only the Plant Island copy can go there.
- Keep one on Plant Island: a second Shugabush is a good idea if you want it singing in the Plant Island song after you’ve sent one to Shugabush Island.
There is no Rare or Epic Shugabush. The wiki notes it’s the only monster on Gold Island without either variant. It also appears on Mirror Plant Island, a Mirror Island you can buy for 100 Diamonds at level 20.

FAQ
Is there a 100% way to breed Shugabush?
No. Bowgart + Clamble is the only combo and it can always fail. The trick of pairing a Common monster with its Rare version, which works for some monsters, can’t help here because Shugabush has no Rare version. Buying it for Diamonds is the only sure way.
Can you breed Shugabush on Cold Island or Earth Island?
No. Bowgart lives on Cold Island and Clamble lives on Earth Island, but you can only get Shugabush from the pair on Plant Island.
Did the Shugabush combo change in 2025 or 2026?
No. The wiki still lists Bowgart + Clamble as of November 2, 2026, and the current App Store version is 5.7.4 (October 28, 2026). Other guides list breeding times like 8 or 24 hours, but the wiki puts the default at 1d 11h.
What does a failed Bowgart + Clamble give you?
Another monster instead, for example one of the parents. While they’re available, it can also be a Rare Bowgart, Rare Clamble, Rare Potbelly or Rare Mammott.
