That mix-up matters, because many of the top search results for this quest are 2025 guides. If a guide tells you to collect 5,000 Candy and a Haunted Candle, it is describing last year’s event. FischFright 3 uses Treats as its currency, and the quest steps are different.

The patch arrived one week into FischFright 3, which Roblox’s event listing for the game dates from October 17 at 16:00 UTC to November 9 at 17:00 UTC.

The Horseman stands at the Chapel Gate in Caustic Hallow, the FischFright 3 event island. Here is the route the launch-day guides describe:
- Go to the Moosewood docks and talk to the captain of the haunted ship (the Flying Dutchman). Choose the travel option.
- On Caustic Hallow, start at the Pumpkin King by the central fountain and head right.
- Keep going straight across the river until you reach the Ritual site.
- The Chapel Gate sits on the cliff behind the Ritual site. The Headless Horseman is waiting there.
- Talk to him and accept with “I’ll bring your Nessie back.”

The quest names and objectives below come from 9to5Gaming’s Baby Nessie guide (October 25, 2026). The patch-note summaries describe the same structure: a rescue, a timing trial with casts during light flashes, and a test of your Halloween knowledge.

Part 1: The Rescue Run
Walk into the chapel, find Baby Nessie and use the prompt to pick it up. The catch is the lighting. When the chapel lights start flickering, stop moving and wait. If you move during the flicker, Baby Nessie panics and runs back into hiding, and you have to grab it again. Move only when the lights settle, and work your way out step by step.
Part 2: Stabilizing The Chapel
Next you fish at the chapel during its flickering phase and land five catches in a row. 9to5Gaming’s update guide says five fish in a row during the flicker; its Baby Nessie guide says the five must be FischFright-mutated fish. Check your quest tracker for the exact wording. If it asks for mutated fish, bring your best mutation-chance rod and enchants.

Part 3: Nessie Expertise
The last quest asks you to show the Horseman three FischFright 3 catches: a Plush Nessie, a Zombie Nessie and a Ghoul Nessie. These are rare limited fish. AllThingsHow’s Nessie guide (updated October 19, 2026) puts the catch rate at roughly 1 in 7,055 and lists these conditions. All three prefer Autumn.

Two warnings before you start:
- Keep spares. The Omniscient Ritual (the one that gives the Omniscient Spinecaster rod) consumes a Plush Nessie and a Zombie Nessie, and you must clear it before the Ghoul Nessie Ritual opens. Guides don’t say whether the Horseman keeps the Nessies you show him, so plan on at least two Plush and two Zombie Nessies if you want both the rod and the companion.
- Rituals unlock in order. TheClick’s ritual list puts Haunted Cemetery 8th and Ghoul Nessie 11th of 11. Frankenstein at the Cemetery charges 100 Treats to start each ritual, and the later ones need awakened Skeleton Hands (four Ritual Roses and a Dark Art Skull).
To summon Jack-o-Moon weather, either run the Jack-o-Moon Ritual (4th in the chain) or buy the Jack-o-Moon Totem from the Dutchman Merchant for 15,000 Treats (stock of one).
Baby Nessie companion: what it does
According to the patch-note summaries, Baby Nessie:
- raises your chance of FischFright mutations;
- gives a progress speed boost that scales inversely with fish size and directly with the fish’s resilience;
- has stronger passives at night and slightly weaker ones during the day.
No source has published exact percentages yet. Don’t confuse the companion with last year’s Baby Nessie fish, a FischFright 2025 catch the Fisch fandom wiki lists as unobtainable now. The 2026 Baby Nessie is a companion that follows you around.
Can you still get the Jack-o-Blazer rod in 2026?
Not as far as any official or dated source shows. Here is what we checked on October 25, 2026:
- The official Fisch Wiki marks the Jack-o-Blazer as “no longer obtainable” and lists it as a FischFright 2 reward from the Headless Horseman questline.
- The 2026 Horseman questline rewards Baby Nessie, per every launch-day guide we read.
- FischFright 3’s limited rods are the Boglin Branch, Eldritch Rod, Webweaver Rod, Doomsekkar Rod, Dutchman’s Rod and Omniscient Spinecaster, per AllThingsHow’s rod guide. The Jack-o-Blazer isn’t among them.
The 2025 questline asked for a Frightful Jack-o-Lantern, 5 Wisps, a Haunted Candle, a Blazed Handle (from 100 Witch Ingredients) and 5,000 Candy, per the fandom wiki’s rod page. Several guides with that list, including Beebom’s, were published October 19-23, 2025. They still rank for “Headless Horseman quest”, so check the date before you grind. If Fisching brings the rod back in a later FischFright 3 update, we’ll update this guide.
What to do first
