Ignite joins Game Pass Nov 5 on Xbox, PC and Cloud. It has full crossplay with PS5 and Steam, 4-player co-op or an NPC crew, and costs $34.99 if you buy it.

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite joins Xbox Game Pass on November 5, 2026 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC, in Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass, according to the Xbox Wire wave 1 post of November 3. It is not a new release: weltenbauer.’s firefighting sim came out on September 9, 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it supports crossplay, so Game Pass players can squad up with people who bought it on Steam or PlayStation.

Quick answer

  • Game Pass date: Thursday, November 5, 2026 (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC).
  • Tiers: Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass.
  • Crossplay: yes. Publisher astragon promised “full crossplay support” so “crews from any platform can join forces”, with built-in voice chat.
  • Co-op: up to 4 players online (you plus three friends), or solo with an NPC crew.
  • Price if you buy: $34.99 for the standard game on Steam, Xbox and PS Store; the Year 1 Edition is $54.99.
  • PS5: the PS Store lists it as included with PlayStation Plus Extra (checked Nov 4, 2026 UTC).

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite on Game Pass: date, tiers and platforms

Xbox Wire’s November wave 1 roundup lists the game as “Firefighting Simulator: Ignite (Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC) – November 5” for “Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass”. Unlike several games in the same post, it is not tagged as a day-one launch, because it has been on sale for more than a year. Xbox Wire’s own summary of the game: “play with up to three friends or with the help of your NPC-controlled crew members.”

The timing is neat for fans of the series: the same Xbox Wire post lists the older Firefighting Simulator – The Squad among the games leaving Game Pass on November 15. If you were playing The Squad through your subscription, Ignite is the newer game from the same series to move to. Our full rundown of the month’s additions is in the Xbox Game Pass November 2026 list.

Platform How to get it Price (US, checked Nov 4)
Xbox Series X|S Game Pass Ultimate or Premium from Nov 5, or buy $34.99 / Year 1 Edition $54.99
PC (Xbox app) PC Game Pass or Ultimate from Nov 5 Included with PC Game Pass
Xbox Cloud Gaming Game Pass (Xbox Wire lists Cloud) Included
PC (Steam, Epic) Buy $34.99 on Steam; Vehicle Rescue Edition $44.99; Year 1 Edition $54.99
PS5 PlayStation Plus Extra, or buy $34.99; Year 1 Edition $54.99 (on sale for $32.99 until Nov 21, 07:59 UTC)

The Year 1 Edition is the base game plus the Year 1 Season Pass, which astragon’s DLC posts say contains each Year 1 pack. On its own, the Season Pass costs $29.99 on Steam and the Xbox Store. The paid DLC packs are separate store listings. The Xbox Wire post names only the game itself, so don’t expect the DLC with Game Pass. If you want to stream it without a subscription, see our guide to Xbox Cloud Gaming without Game Pass.

Is Firefighting Simulator: Ignite crossplay?

Yes. astragon said in its March 2025 announcement that the game “will launch on PC and consoles, with support for crossplay”. Its co-op gameplay reveal (June 2025) went further: “With full crossplay support, crews from any platform can join forces, while the built-in voice chat ensures smooth coordination.” The Steam page also carries the Cross-Platform Multiplayer tag, and the team said its first hotfix had to be “coordinated across all platforms for crossplay”.

  • Crossplay PS5 and Xbox: supported. astragon’s wording covers every platform the game is on.
  • Crossplay PS5 and PC: supported.
  • Crossplay setting: lobbies have a crossplay setting. The May 12, 2026 patch notes fixed changes to it “in an active lobby (if allowed to change)”, so check it before you invite friends on other platforms.
  • Cross-progression: we found no official statement on carrying a save between Steam, PlayStation and Xbox (checked Nov 4). Assume your Game Pass career starts fresh.
  • PS5 online: the PS Store notice says “PS Plus required for online play” and “Supports up to 4 online players with PS Plus”.

How co-op works: 3 friends or an NPC crew

Missions start at the Oakridge City Fire Station, which serves as both lobby and training hub. You pick a mission, choose a truck and drive to the scene. Online, up to four players share the job. Playing solo, you fill the other seats with NPC firefighters and give them orders. astragon describes two levels of command: general tasks such as “extinguish fires” or “search and rescue”, and context-sensitive commands aimed at a specific hazard. NPCs tell you when they hit a problem, such as not having the right tool.

Matchmaking options, per the patch notes:

  • Quickplay drops you into an open lobby. Since May 2026 it avoids rejoining the same lobby twice in a row, and it ranks AFK lobbies lower (lobbies get an AFK label when the host has been inactive for more than 5 minutes).
  • Lobby codes and friend invites work too. The code is hidden on multiplayer and squad screens by default (an option added in Update #1, Oct 2025), which is handy if you stream.
  • Mod missions in co-op: every player needs the mod mission installed, or it won’t show up in the list.

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite beginner tips

These tips come from astragon’s own gameplay posts and patch notes. Where a tip is our reading of those notes rather than a quote, we say so. We have not played the game.

1. Rescue first, fire second

The official mission walkthrough is clear that “every mission starts with one goal above all: get everyone out alive”. Guide conscious survivors out, carry unconscious victims, and use the ambulance that is always parked at the scene. Trucks with ladders or platforms are the answer for victims you can’t reach from inside, like people trapped on a roof.

2. Match the extinguishing agent to the fire

Ordinary, grease, liquid, gas and electrical fires all need different approaches, according to the co-op reveal, and the mall mission trailer warns that electrical and grease fires “demand different tactics”. The reveal’s advice is short: “Choose wisely, act fast.” Our tip: before you open up on a kitchen or a fuse box, check what is burning and pick the agent first.

3. Ventilate, and read the smoke

Saws are ventilation tools as well as breaching tools: astragon suggests cutting holes in ceilings or garage walls to let smoke out. The store description adds a warning sign to watch for: thick smoke finding its way through closed doors means a backdraft or flashover could be close. Locked doors, windows and walls can be opened with an axe, Halligan bar or circular saw.

4. Practise in the training area first

The fire station hub is where you learn techniques and tools between calls. The free Shannondale Update (July 21, 2026) added a separate training lot for motor vehicle accidents. Our tip: run the hose, saw and ladder drills there before your first co-op call, so your squad isn’t waiting on you.

5. Let the AI squad work on its own

Since the Vehicle Customization Update (March 16, 2026), fully or partly autonomous squad members go straight for objectives they discover in a room unless you tell them otherwise. Later hotfixes, the latest on October 27, 2026, kept improving squad navigation. Our reading: in solo play, set broad tasks and save direct commands for blocked doors or a victim you have spotted.

6. Take the shortest route, and don’t always skip the drive

The store page tells you to take “the shortest route to the emergency scene”. Achievement hunters should note that the July update changed “10 Approaches” and “Seen Every Corner” so they also count for passengers, which makes them faster to earn in co-op (our reading of the patch notes). The Steam version lists 76 achievements.

Mods on Xbox, PS5 and PC

Community missions come through mod.io. astragon’s mission editor post names the Steam and Epic versions as the ones with the built-in Mission Editor. It hasn’t said whether the PC Game Pass version has the editor, so don’t count on it. On Xbox Series X|S and PS5, you can only download mod missions the developers have tested and approved, so new mods reach consoles later than PC.
