Earlier today, Sony registered a trademark for Sunset Overdrive. This could either be related to a remaster or a complete sequel to the original game. We do not know anything that Insomniac and Sony will do with this. Insomniac does own the IP, but the first game was only on PC and Xbox. I think this could mean that we can expect a PlayStation Port for Sunset Overdrive very soon.
In 2019, According to Game Insider, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida reportedly said that the company isn’t interested in bringing Sunset Overdrive to PS4 thanks to instead “looking forward to future titles.” maybe his plans changed, and he did say that they aren’t interested in bringing it to PS4 this could be a PS5 port.
Hopefully, Sunset Overdrive does get a PS5 or even a PS4 port because I haven’t played it, and I am really interested in playing it since I loved all Insomniac Games I have played so far. I think they will officially announce something at a State of Play type presentation where they would give an update on upcoming games such as Horizon Forbidden West.
