Rockstar owner says that they are more interested in doing Remasters than “Simple Ports”

According to VGC, Strauss Zelnick (Take-Two Boss) was recently asked about remasters potentially becoming a bigger part of the company’s strategy going forward.
He replied, “I’m not sure there’ll be a bigger part of the strategy; Remastering has always been a part of the strategy. We’ve done differently than the competition – we don’t just port titles over; we actually take the time to do the very best job we can make the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on.” He also said, “So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that’s why I think our remastered titles typically do so well. It was a standard-bearer when launched; it continued to be the standard-bearer in the second generation; we’ll see how Grand Theft Auto does in the next generation. Obviously, I’m confident that Rockstar is going to deliver just a great experience, but you can’t do that if you’re just doing a simple port.”

Basically, Rockstar Games are trying to deliver a better experience via remasters that cannot be done through a simple port. This is a huge move for Rockstar Games because they will make more remasters. I really hope the GTA V Remaster on PS5 and Xbox Series X is something huge. We have not seen any native footage of GTA V Remaster running on PS5 or Xbox Series X yet; I am really interested in seeing the visual upgrades and the FPS upgrades in GTA V Remaster. There have also been rumours about remasters of GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City and GTA 3, and this might have just provided more credibility to those rumours but keep in mind, take everything with a grain of salt until Rockstar announce something by themselves. All we do know currently is that GTA VI is in development, but it is still “Years away”, and GTA V Remaster (Enhanced and Expanded Edition) is already in development as well. So I think the GTA Trilogy Remasters (If they are even real) might be handled by some other studio.
