Moon Studios’ Wicked Inside showcase detailed 1.0: weapon-based classes (24 of them, 362 traits), six factions, a December open beta and a March 2027 launch.

No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 launches in March 2027 on PS5 and PC (Steam), and Moon Studios has now shown what it brings: a new class system with 24 classes and 362 traits, six joinable factions, and enough new content to “roughly double the size of the game”. The details came in the studio’s Wicked Inside showcase on October 16. Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions follow later, with no date yet.

The Ori studio’s action RPG has been in Early Access on PC since April 2024. If you want to try the new classes before launch, there’s an open beta in December, and Moon Studios says all 24 classes will be playable in it.

How the new class system works

The biggest change in No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 is that the attribute system is gone. In the current Early Access version, you put points into stats, and those points push you toward certain weapons. In 1.0, the weapon you pick up sets your class, and you can carry traits from one class into another.

  • 24 classes and 362 traits. That’s up from the “280+ class traits” Moon Studios listed in its first class system preview in September, which also mentioned six trait slots.
  • Mixing builds. The studio’s examples include electric spears that rain down like arrows, stealth moves that end fights before they begin, and “synergy crafting” that combines the strongest parts of several classes.
  • Cerim Cores. These boost survivability, from simple upgrades to health, stamina and focus to effects such as “Feral” (faster attacks) and “Crimson” (lifesteal). There’s a catch: go over your Core capacity and you take more damage from every attack.

Six factions with their own questlines

You can join one of six factions on the island of Isola Sacra and work your way up from new recruit. The ones named so far are the Severed Hand assassins, the knightly Sacrament Guard and the Unspoken. According to the showcase press release, each faction has its own questline, new traits, unique vendors and “some additional surprises”.

What else is new in 1.0?

Moon Studios calls this “no small update”. Version 1.0 adds new zones to explore, new enemy factions and bosses, a refined loot system, combat upgrades and quality-of-life improvements. The studio also says it’s working to make PS5 performance “as smooth as possible”. Two of the new zones were shown on Steam on October 8: the Sylvan Hollow, a petrified crystal forest, and the Reliquary, an ancient site full of buried secrets.

Why it’s March and not October

Version 1.0 was first planned for October 2026. On September 1, Moon Studios moved it to March 2027, writing that “close isn’t good enough” and that it wanted more time for performance, class balance and polish. The same post set up a bonus for early supporters. Anyone who buys the game on Steam before January 1, 2027 gets the Founder’s Pack rewards, and PlayStation players can earn them by pre-ordering once PS5 pre-orders open in January.

The game already has a big audience. Moon Studios announced 2 million copies sold in July, and Steam rates it “Mostly Positive”, with 65,530 of 82,646 user reviews positive (about 79%, checked October 17, 20:30 UTC on the Steam store page). It’s one of several Early Access games making the jump to consoles, like Enshrouded, whose 1.0 just launched on PS5 and PC. And if you like big RPG reworks, The Blood of Dawnwalker’s update 1.1 adds a respec option next week.

What’s next

The next stop is the December open beta. Moon Studios says it will share beta details on its official social channels. After that come PS5 pre-orders in January and the 1.0 launch in March, when we’ll learn the exact release date. Steam players who want the Founder’s rewards should buy before January 1, and the current 30% discount ends on October 22.
