Bounty Battle is a game where nothing about it is redeemable except the cast. I don’t even know where to begin with this everything about it is terrible except the cast of characters, which don’t do the game justice at all. It feels like a cheap mobile game, but that won’t be doing it justice either since I have played many mobile games better than this. They had some fun factors; sadly, I cannot say the same about Bounty Battle.

Let me start with the gameplay; you always end up winning even if you spam. Now there’s a cool down if you spam, but it doesn’t matter because the AI is terrible. Bounty Battle isn’t the indie version of Super Smash Bros because if there were an indie version of it, it would have some redeemable quality. I have played Brawlhalla, which is a way better Smash Bros-like game than this, and it was free. I would recommend you to skip this. It has no fun factor at all, even in local couch co-op.

Let me breakdown Bounty Battle apart. First, you have a fantastic cast of characters; then, you have a terrible combat system and gameplay. Also, the UI feels straight-up clunky another very disappointing thing is that there’s no multiplayer it’s essential in brawlers and games like this, in my opinion. Still, it wouldn’t have done this any justice at all, so there’s that because the gameplay is a major let down.

They overused particles you can’t see anything correctly, and there’s a slow-motion effect which slows everything down when you attack someone, or someone attacks another enemy, which completely ruins the immersion. Then you have the low-resolution textures. I have seen flash games with a better art style and textures than Bounty Battle. Also, playing with different characters feels the same; for example, I played as the character from dead cells first, then I played as the character from Guacamelee. Both felt the same. Also, I encountered so many bugs.

The game would crash every 30 minutes. It’s like my console was telling me to stop playing this terrible game. My character just started floating in the air because of a bug, and sometimes the enemies don’t do anything at all. That’s how terrible the AI is in Bounty Battle. I feel like I have explained everything about this game. It’s just an utterly irredeemable game.

I regret even trying it. I was very excited to play it because of the cast. At first, you have characters like Guacamelee!, Darkest Dungeon, Dead Cells, Awesomenauts, Nuclear Throne, Owlboy, Axiom Verge, SteamWorld Dig, Oddmar, Jotun, Battle Chasers Nightwar, Death’s Gambit, EITR, Super Comboman, Pankapu, Flinthook, Doko Roko, Tower of Samsara, Blubber Busters, Ruin of the Reckless, The Bug Butcher, and Blocks that Matter. And how do you ruin that? By making everything else trash, I hope developers Dark Screen Gaming learn from their failure, and I wish them good luck on their next project.

Verdict:

I would not suggest you buy Bounty Battle even if you want it. That’s how bad it is. As I have mentioned previously, it has nothing redeemable it’s a game where everything about it is mediocre except the cast of characters, which doesn’t matter at all because of the terrible execution of this game. This is one of the worst games I have ever played in my life.

Pros: 1/10

Surprise, there are no Pros except the cast.

Cons:

  • Terrible AI
  • Bugs which crash the game every 30 minutes
  • Clunky main menu and UI
  • Low-Resolution Textures
