What are the Hottest Gaming Industry Start-Ups in the Marketplace Today?

The rapid growth of gaming businesses makes the gaming industry one of the fastest growing industries in the marketplace. Observers estimate that the global video game market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 12.9% over the next 8 years. The industry, which was valued at $124 billion in 2017, is expected to reach $583.69 billion by 2030.

Some of the new gaming companies define themselves as small businesses – created to serve a local market and to promote entrepreneurship. A small business only expands once the company starts earning money.  Start-ups, on the other hand, start out with a vision of growing and disrupting the market. They measure success over time and without ever losing sight of the vision of a casino jackpot reward in the long-term.

Today, the gaming industry, which includes new initiatives in EdTech and Artificial Intelligence in gaming, is considered one of the biggest industries for startups.  Some of the gaming industry startups are widely recognized such as Epic Games, PUBG Corporation and Multiverse. Many of the hottest gaming industry start-ups are not yet  familiar to the public but you should be aware of what they’re doing because they will be soon! They include:

Gameway

Travelers often play on their mobile devices but often find it difficult to enjoy a satisfying gaming experience when playing on the small mobile screen. Gameway is installing video game lounges in airports where travelers can play their favorite games on consoles.

Current locations for their entertainment hubs include two centers in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, a lounge at the Los Angeles airport, a gaming center at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and an upcoming opening at the Houston Hobby airport.

Candivore

Candivore builds PvP (Player-vs.Player)-based puzzle games designed for mobile gaming. This type of multi-player game matches players – who often don’t know each other – in interactive competitions in which they can earn in-game rewards for successes. Users are given a collaborative and open gaming environment where they can compete for prizes.

Candivore’s signature game is Match Masters. Match Masters is a competitive Match-3 puzzle game that combines luck, skill and innovative game elements for a satisfying player experience. Match Masters is an easy game to learn but has multiple levels so it’s hard to master.

Asobo Studio

Asobo Studio partners with brands like Microsoft, Pixar and Disney to create video games which are adapted from the companies’ famous productions and franchises. Some of the studio’s best-known productions include Pixar’s A Plague Tale: Innocence, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Pixar’s Ratoutille, Toy Story 3 from Disney, Racket Sports from Ubisoft and The Crew including The Crew 2 and The Crew 3.

Drop Fake

Drop Fake is, perhaps, best known not for its games but for its gaming environment which is “remote first.” All of Drop Fake’s work remotely so the company employs a much higher percentage of workers from under-represented groups than is seen in other companies. Drop Fake is currently working on a cross-platform 4X strategy game. The company’s stated goal is to change “not only how people view what games can be, but also how they’re made.”

One Earth Rising

As its name suggests, One Earth Rising designs games that are created to have a positive social impact. They build games around social themes such as well-being, climate change  and ocean preservation.

In One Earth Rising Games, players own and trade their characters and assets as all items are able to move from one One Earth Rising game to another, from one developer to another and from one platform to another in a “Purposeverse.”

One early One Earth Rising Game is Bunny Raiders – No One is Left Behind where Bunny Raiders protect their fellow animals and mother nature by battling their way through randomly generated rooms, participating in Raids saving furry friends and destroying evil robots. Gadgets that can be gathered include projectiles, health bots and weapons that shoot faster.

Supermassive Games

Supermassive Games focuses on building massive, immersive  and interactive games. The studio is a BAFTA-award winner with major releases including horror games such as Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology and The Quarry.  Another upcoming game that is already attracting a lot of attention is The Devil in Me. Supermassive Games has made a name for itself as a developer of VR games and for its unique storytelling.

In addition to the BAFTA award, Supermassive Games has also won multiple TIGA Awards awards for Best Game of the Year (Little Hope), Narrative Innovation of the Year for Man of Medan, Best Social Game for Hidden Agenda and Best Puzzle Game for Tumble VR.

Chaos Karts

Chaos Karts combines video games with the world of Go-Karting which uses state-of-the-art technology to get players racing in a real warehouse set up to look like London streets, Florida beaches, the Nevada desert and even outer space .

In this real-life version of a videogame the experience of go-karting is gamified as up to 8 players race around in their carts as they interact with digitally projected obstacles and projectiles and compete against one another.

Throughout the circuit, projectors and sensors transmit information to all users in real-time. Kart drivers also share information among themselves. Drivers aim projectiles or power-ups at one another which allows the sensors to relay the information so that the digital obstacle or projectile appears precisely at the spot at which it was aimed.

Drivers tally points in real-time as they compete to see which driver will end the competition with the highest number of points.. Throughout the circuit players collect power-ups and weapons to increase their competitive edge over other players.
