MrBeast Gaming’s “If You Escape, You Win $1,000,000” put 10 teams in MW4’s DMZ on Oct 19. DMZ early access for digital pre-orders opens Oct 20.

MrBeast’s Call of Duty DMZ video, “If You Escape, You Win $1,000,000”, went live on the MrBeast Gaming YouTube channel at 16:00 UTC on Monday, October 19 (noon ET, 9 a.m. PT). According to the description, MrBeast had 10 teams fight in DMZ, the extraction mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, for a $1,000,000 prize. It went up four days before the game launches on October 23. Players who pre-ordered digitally can try DMZ themselves from tomorrow, October 20.

What the MrBeast Call of Duty DMZ video is

The video is a tie-in with the Modern Warfare 4 launch. Its description opens with one line, “I had 10 teams fight in Call of Duty’s new DMZ mode for $1,000,000”, and then points viewers to the game: “DMZ Early Access starts Oct 20. Pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to jump in.” The description adds that dubbed versions with the channel’s usual voice actors arrive on Friday, October 23 (ET).

MrBeast teased it on X the day before: “I started on YouTube making COD videos and tomorrow I’m dropping one of the biggest COD videos of all time to celebrate the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4!” (October 18, 16:42 UTC). Half an hour later the official Call of Duty account quoted him with “Tomorrow @MrBeast steps into DMZ for his next mission” (@CallofDuty).

Neither post nor the description names the teams or the winner, so we won’t either. Several streamers said on X on October 18 that they appear in the video, and @CallofDuty reposted some of those posts, but MrBeast and Activision haven’t published a lineup.

What is DMZ in Modern Warfare 4?

Activision calls DMZ “Call of Duty’s definitive extraction shooter experience”. In its DMZ deep dive on the Call of Duty blog, it describes a persistent open world set in war-torn Hajin. Squads or solo players loot, take on objectives and fight both AI enemies and rival players. The aim is to get out alive.

That’s why the title says “escape”. A run only pays off if you reach an exfil site, marked by green smoke, call in a helicopter and hold the area until it lands. A radiation storm keeps tightening across the map. According to the official FOB guide, anything you carry outside a Secure Slot is lost if you fail to exfil. Between runs, players gear up at the Forward Operating Base (FOB).

When can you play DMZ?

Activision’s DMZ guide says DMZ Early Access starts on Tuesday, October 20 for players who digitally pre-ordered or pre-purchased the Standard Digital Edition or the Vault Edition. It covers Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PS5, Battle.net, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. Activision hasn’t published a start time. Its footnote only says play times depend on time zones and possible outages. Physical copies don’t include early access. Everyone else gets DMZ with the full game on October 23.

What’s next

DMZ Early Access opens tomorrow, October 20. Modern Warfare 4 launches in full on October 23, the same day the dubbed versions of the MrBeast video arrive. We’ll update this post if MrBeast or Activision names the teams or confirms an early access start time.
