iD Software is currently working on a VR game called PROJECT 2021A. According to the latest Australian rating, it was classified today, and it states that the Year of Production is 2021. Another notable thing is that it will have “Online Interactivity” and High Impact Violence.
I guess it could be some type of VR DOOM game since DOOM matches the “High impact violence” description, or it could be a completely new VR IP. I’m pretty sure it would not be an Xbox Exclusive since Xbox Series S/X does not support VR, and “there are no plans to include VR on the Xbox Series X or Series S” according to Microsoft unless Xbox manages to create a VR system in time.
Xbox’s head Phil Spencer has also praised Iron Man VR by Sony, which could mean that they are working on VR support to create VR games on Xbox too, but he has also previously ruled out VR support for Xbox last year maybe they changed their minds and started working on VR support for Xbox again.
Phil Spencer has also stated that certain Bethesda games might come to other platforms as well.
So all that we do know is that PROJECT 2021A is a Virtual reality game. It could be a DOOM VR or a completely new IP, and it is coming to PC, and most likely PlayStation since PlayStation 5 supports VR.
