Need for Speed fans; we have bad news for you. Sadly EA has decided to stop supporting 5 Need for Speed Games and will be pulling them from Digital Stores such as Steam, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store.
Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed and Need for Speed The Run are the games that have been removed from Digital Stores
You will no longer be able to purchase any Items from them either because of this removal, even if you own it on Disc.
On Reddit, EA stated
” This is in preparation for the retirement of the online services for these titles, which will happen on August 31st 2021. Until that date, you will be able to play and race your friends (and rivals) online.
From September 1st 2021 onwards, you can still play the games and use the respective offline features of these titles.”

This means that you will be able to play Need for Speed until August 31, 2021, with your friends, and then after that, the Offline mode is your only way of playing them.

I think removing them from Digital Stores is a bad idea because Video Games should be preserved, but again it’s their decision.
EA stated, “Decisions to retire games are never made easy, but we are now shifting gears to focus on the future of Need for Speed” as the reason why they are removing these games from Digital Stores.
