Biomutant will have a 10.2 GB Day One Patch

Biomutant is set to release later this month on 25th May, and some weeks ago, a Patch dropped on the Sony Database; it is around 10.2GB, and the patch list states “Game Stability Fixes and Misc Bugfixes”. hopefully, these patches end up improving the launch and make it a great experience without any Game Breaking Bugs or low frame rates. However, we still do not know about the actual Game Size. Still, if I were to make a prediction of the date, we would know it by it would probably be around 10-12 Days before launch since some Digital Game Store Pages usually get updated before 10-12 days of the release of a game.

I am really looking forward to Biomutant since the concept seems very interesting, but that’s not just the reason the developers have taken a very long time. Still, apparently, it was because their scope extended. I wonder how big the game is gonna be.
Recently the developers of Biomutant had an interview with IGN where they stated
“It’s been a huge amount of work for QA because it’s not easy in an open-world game to find them. Once they’ve been found, we have to fix them, and that’s put some additional challenge on us, being a small team. Any game will ship with [smaller] bugs, but I’m talking about bugs that are truly disruptive to the game experience. We don’t want to ship with that. I think that’s what caused us to wait until we were ready to do it.”
Basically, what they were trying to do was fix all the game-breaking bugs, and it was hard for them as a small team. They do not want any bugs and glitches that would ruin a player’s experience, and it is an open-world game, so bugs are harder to find; they do not want the same outcome Cyberpunk 2077 suffered from, and that game was way bigger than Biomutant. Another thing that led to these delays is the expanded scope. The original script was around 80k-85k words but went to 250k as they were developing the game; this led to multiple delays. Another thing is that the team was only 20 people.
They also spoke about a next-gen console update where the developers stated, “Definitely. We will see moving forward what’s going to happen, but you will definitely be able to play it on those consoles.”
