Analogue’s Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ cost $219.99 each, open for preorder October 19 at 8am PDT and ship in December, adding wireless pads and USB-C.

Analogue’s Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ go up for preorder on Sunday, October 19 at 8am PDT (15:00 UTC). Each costs $219.99 and ships in December 2026. They are refreshed versions of the company’s FPGA consoles for original Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges. Both now have Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless controller support, USB-C power and hot-swappable cartridges, according to Analogue’s product pages.

Analogue revealed the pair on October 16. The originals came out years ago: Super Nt debuted in 2017 and Mega Sg was first announced in 2018. The new models keep the same idea. They play your real cartridges in sharp 1080p over HDMI, with no ROM files and no software emulation.

What’s new compared with the original Super Nt and Mega Sg

Most of the changes make the consoles easier to live with. Wireless support is built in, so you no longer need a dongle in a controller port. There’s a dedicated pairing button, and Analogue says it works with “virtually any” 8BitDo controller or arcade stick as well as modern gamepads, for up to two players. If you plug in a wired controller, it takes priority over a wireless one. You can also turn either console on or off from player one’s controller, by pressing Start or switching on a paired pad.

Hot swapping means you quit the game from the menu and pull the cartridge without powering down. Power now comes through USB-C, with the charger in the box. The new USB-A port is only for Analogue’s DAC (for CRT and PVM setups) or for charging controllers. Analogue says it doesn’t carry data and doesn’t take wired USB controllers. The industrial design, the operating system and the retail packaging have also been reworked.

What the Plus models don’t do

Analogue is clear about the limits. Neither console supports openFPGA, so you can’t load community cores the way you can on its Pocket handheld. Neither has the extras from the Analogue 3D, its Nintendo 64 console: no save states, overclocking, screenshots or 4K display modes. Video tops out at 1080p, which The Verge also notes in its report on the announcement. There’s no built-in game either. The original Super Nt came with Super Turrican Director’s Cut and the original Mega Sg with Ultracore.

On Mega Sg+, the Master System adapter comes in the box, but the Game Gear, My Card and Mark III/SG-1000 adapters are sold separately. Sega CD and Mega CD games need an original Sega CD or Mega CD unit attached to the console’s expansion connector. Eurogamer’s write-up lists the same variants and launch details.

How to preorder

Preorders run through Analogue’s own store. In other time zones, the 8am PDT start is 11am EDT, 4pm BST and 5pm CEST on October 19. The Verge’s report gives 9am PT, but both product pages say 8am PDT. Choose your variant before the start time: Classic, SF or Black for Super Nt+, and USA, EU or JP for Mega Sg+. Add the $29.99 8BitDo pad if you want to play wirelessly out of the box.

What’s next

Preorders open on October 19 at 15:00 UTC. Analogue has given December 2026 as the shipping window but no exact date, and its product pages list only US dollar pricing so far. We’ll update this post if Analogue confirms shipping dates or prices in other regions.
