This makes the previous rumour that Sony’s First Party games only launch on the PlayStation 5 Completely False.
According to Jason Schreier, the PS5 will be more powerful than RTX 2080 keep reading if you want to know more about that.
Jason Schreier recently said in a podcast that Both consoles are so equal in power and that both consoles’ GPUs are more powerful than an Nvidia RTX 2080 which is very powerful he also stated that Sony is trying to future proof the PlayStation 5,
a normal RTX 2080 has around 10 Teraflops of power which means that PS5 will have power around 10-12 Teraflops.
For those who don’t know who Jason Schreier is, Jason Schreier is the news editor for Kotaku he has also covered news for Wired. He also stated in the podcast that all the Sony First Party games will only be available on the PlayStation 5, and won’t be Cross-Gen. Sony wants its first-party developers to take full advantage of the new hardware.
If the Xbox Series X includes the rumoured console Lockhart it will hold many games back of their full potential just like the Cross-Gen games will hold the potential of Next-Gen Consoles back. If Microsoft makes it a requirement if you want to publish a game on the Series X you will have to port it on Lockhart too it would hurt developers and would give them less freedom.
The PS5’s reveal event is rumoured to take place on 12th February according to a recent leak by a 4chan user (Who Previously leaked Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Odyssey) he said that the next Assassin’s Creed game (Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok) will be revealed at Sony’s event.
