Best Upcoming Games in 2020

This year is nearly coming to an end with only a little more than a month left. This year has given us many great games like Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Sekiro and Resident Evil 2. 2020 will definitely be a great year with a lot of good games coming out.

Here’s Our List for the Best Upcoming Games in 2020

DOOM ETERNAL

Bethesda has never disappointed us with the Doom series. Doom Eternal is officially coming next year on Stadia, Switch, PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Creative director Hugo Martin has stated there will be twice as many demon types as in the 2016 reboot. There are new types of enemies, such as the Marauder and Doom Hunter, while others, such as the Pain Elemental, Arachnotron, and Archvile, will be reintroduced from previous Documentaries. A new system called “Destructible Demons” is featured, in which enemies’ bodies become progressively destroyed and deteriorated in combat as they suffer damage. There is also a new life system. During gameplay, players can collect 1-up items (which look like green helmets) scattered around the environment. When the Doom Slayer perishes in combat, he will respawn where he died if he has spare lives, instead of restarting at the nearest checkpoint.

Ori and the Will of Wisps

Ori and the Will of Wisps is a sequel to Ori and Blind Forest. It is to be released on February 11, 2020. The game is also planned to be 4k Xbox One X enhanced, an Xbox Play anywhere title and it will also be on Xbox game pass at launch. Will of the wisps will also feature an auto-saving system unlike Ori and Blind Forest. Some of the gameplay elements are inspired by Rayman, Hollow Knight, and Metroid. The game story is centered on a new adventure to discover the world beyond the forest of Nibel, uncover the truths of the lost ones, and unearth Ori’s true destiny.

Gods And Monsters

Gods And Monsters is a game that is being developed by the developers of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The Developers of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey also said that “We could not go full mythological with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey since we had to make it a bit Realistic”  and they later also stated that “Their games have been held back by reality of the History Books That’s why we are going full mythological” Gods And Monsters also takes a few inspirations from Legend Of The Zelda Breath Of The Wild. Gods And Monsters is officially coming out on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows. The Game was set to be launched on 25th February 2020 but it has been delayed with no new release date given yet.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a PlayStation Exclusive game that is being developed and published by Square Enix. It is being split across multiple release dates. The first part is scheduled for March 3rd, 2020. The release date of the second part is yet to be announced. The team decided to release FF7 Remake as multiple parts so no original content would be cut. They also decided to add new content and adjust the original character designs to balance between realism and stylization.

Watch Dogs Legion

Watch Dogs Legion is one of the most unique games launching next year in Watch Dogs Legion you can play as any character. It introduces a new type of NPCs (Now Playable Character). The game itself will be the third game in the Watch Dogs series and it is a direct sequel to Watch Dogs 2. The game’s story focuses on the efforts of the London branch of hacker group DedSec in combating an authoritarian regime that has taken control of the United Kingdom, thanks to the advanced surveillance system known as ctOS. To assist in this, DedSec recruits allies from across the city to liberate the city as a resistance force. Each character in the game will have their background and skillset and provide a more dynamic influence on the game’s narrative as the story progresses. Watch Dogs Legion was set to be released on March 6th, 2020. It has also been delayed like Gods and monsters with no release date given yet. the game itself will launch on Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the next-gen consoles.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

It is the fifth main title in the Animal Crossing Series. The game itself is to be launched on March 20th, 2020. Just like the previous Animal Crossing game in 2017 the game introduces a Crafting System that allows the player to convert materials into tools and furniture, which can be used to decorate the game’s interior and exterior spaces. There is also a new in-game currency called “Nook Miles” which can be earned by doing various tasks, it can also be used to purchase premium items. The game’s weather will also adjust depending on the player’s location.

Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated

Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is a remaster of the Original Game. The Core gameplay involves collecting items and defeating the robots which have attacked various areas in Bikini Bottom, whilst crossing platforms and avoiding environmental hazards like spikes and flames. Some areas require different characters to beat, as each character has their unique abilities. The remake will also feature a Brand new horde mode multiplayer for up to two players, online and offline. it will also have Restored content that was cut from the original game like the Robo Squidward boss fight and more. The game will also feature local CO-OP just like the original one and it seems that they are reusing the voices from the original game which is highly nostalgic for most of the people. The game is set to be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Rainbow Six Quarantine

Rainbow Six Quarantine is a CO-OP Spin-off of Rainbow Six Siege. According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, Rainbow Six Quarantine will release before the end of the fiscal year. That means any time before April 2020. The game is based on the Outbreak mode of Rainbow Six Siege. The infection seen in the teaser looks similar to the black, messy texture of Outbreak’s alien zombies. You can also see Siege operators Ela and Vigil, confirming that Quarantine takes place in the same world.

The Last Of Us 2

The Last Of Us 2 was set to be launched on 28th February 2019 but it was delayed a while back the new given release date is 29th May 2020. it is a PlayStation exclusive for those who do not know about The Last Of Us Franchise but we doubt if people like that exist.

CyberPunk 2077

CyberPunk 2077 by CDPR is one of the most anticipated game launching next year. The game will also feature Breath-Taking Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silver Hand. CyberPunk 2077 will be a first-person game with only first-person cutscenes even though they showed the character in the gameplay for some reason. The Game is officially set to launch on PC, Stadia, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 is planned to launch in Spring 2020. it is set 15 years after the original game as their website states “it’s been 15 years since humanity lost to the virus.
The last great human settlement exists within an unforgiving, infected world, plunged into a modern dark age. During the day, bandits, factions and starving survivors roam the streets scavenging for scraps – or someone to take them from, by violence if necessary. At night the infected roam free, evacuating their dark hideouts to prey on the living.” The game will also feature 2-4 player CO-OP it is officially set to be released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game itself is set in a modern Dark Age as the website states “In a desperate city, where resources and power are scarce, unstable, and trust in ruling bodies is all but eroded; humankind has reverted to a dark age. Civilization is gone but the relics are still there. This is a violent, primal & unforgiving world – and so are its inhabitants”.

Minecraft Dungeons

Minecraft Dungeons is set to be released on Windows, MacOSX, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch it is being developed by the creators of Minecraft. It can be played solo or online with up to four players. Minecraft Dungeons has no crafting, building, or the ability to destroy blocks. Instead, it focuses on being a dungeon crawler game, where the player explores randomly-generated dungeons filled with randomly-generated monsters, deals with traps and puzzles, and finds treasures. it is being developed in Unreal Engine 4 and is set to launch in June 2020.

Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite AKA Halo 6 is set to launch with Xbox Scarlett it is being developed by 343i. They are using the SlipSpace Engine to create the game. The game itself continues the story of Master Chief in the Third Chapter of Halo Sequel Series. Halo Infinite will feature Split-Screen CO-OP after a huge amount of backlash from Halo 5. According to Microsoft, Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite with “his greatest adventure yet to save humanity”.

Ghost Of Tsushima

With no release date yet announced it is most likely confirmed that Ghost Of Tsushima is launching sometime in 2020. It is to be launched on PlayStation 4 as it’s being developed by Sucker Punch Studios and being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It will feature an Open World as our player is the Last Samurai during the first Mongol Invasion.

Elden Ring

Elden Ring is a game that is being developed by FromSoftware (The Creators of Dark Souls and Sekiro) and is being published by Bandai Namco. We do not have a confirmed release date but most rumors say that it is going to be launched in mid-2020.
